Introducing The Lightsaber Escape, an interactive game/experiment that allows you to turn your smartphone into a lightsaber and battle the armor-clad, laser wielding soldiers of the First Order.
Click the link above to start the game, and then follow the instructions to calibrate your phone into a wireless controller (lightsaber). It’s challenging, but it’s a lot of fun.
This experiment is a part of a massive (and highly successful) marketing campaign from Disney to promote the latest installment in the Star Wars franchise: The Force Awakens. Disney spared no expense, spending over $200 million on marketing alone, which included extensive online campaigns, merchandise, and more. The trailer even set a new world record with the most YouTube views in 24 hours.
